STUDIO SLAKE offers handmade pottery for the contemporary aesthetic. 

All pieces are wheel thrown or hand crafted in white stoneware clay. 

Both decorative and functional, I want my work to elevate the everyday. I create objects that remind us to be present and considered, slowly enough to notice the details. Fascinated by the relationship between balance and dichotomy, my work explores minimal forms and textured or nuanced surfaces.

In ceramics, we slake down clay scraps until they are liquid clay to be reclaimed and used again. This process of renewal and endless rebirth offers contrast to the permanency of fired ceramics. The duality of this process is echoed by the balance between control and lack thereof throughout the creation process.
